Welcome

Welcome to Keep Calm and Relax. This website was inspired by the profound and insightful wisdom of courageous people throughout the ages. Historically events and circumstances that can cause us stress, have remained surprisingly unchanged. These words are my interpretation of how the inspirational philosophy of yesterday can be a positive influence on how we cope with tomorrow. I have woven my thoughts on coping with difficult times and how to survive them around the wise and wonderful words of great men and women.

Do get in touch if you agree or disagree with anything I have to say. I don't have answers just my thoughts and the thoughts of wise men and women that might just make you think differently.

GO ON DARE A DRAGON!

The ancient mapmakers when they came to land yet to be explored wrote at the very point where the known became the unknown, ‘Beware beyond this place there be dragons’.

There will be a time in every life when we will seek change or maybe change will be imposed upon us by fate or circumstance. The old mapmakers were right, there are dragons out there, the unknown is a scary place, but the worry that once we step out of our comfort zone something terrible will happen,  stops us from accepting that change is what we really need.

If your life is not the one you want and you are desperate to change it only you can make it happen. No one else can be held responsible for your happiness.

So if you hate your job, you don’t like where you live, if you are standing at the end of a relationship or at the beginning of a new one, these are scary places. Change takes courage, but if you have a deep longing to do something and that desire is your constant companion, then you can do it.

Edna St Vincent Millay wrote ‘There is not a train going anywhere I wouldn’t get on’. That kind of freedom is too scary for most and an impossible dream for others, but when you are quivering on the edge of indecision think of it this way.If you do something, something bad may happen but if you do nothing, nothing will happen.

I am a great believer that fate will find you, but sometimes it helps to step out of line so it can see you.
